Cobol Programmer - # CBL29606S

This position is in Springfield, IL

Duration: Approximately 3 years

Seeking a candidate to support and enhance applications currently residing on mainframe. Interfacing with application software residing on an IBM OS/390 mainframe is required. Integration with an existing Intranet site may also be a requirement.

 Mainframe Application Technical Expertise:

Experienced COBOL code programmer with a minimum of three (3) years experience that includes a demonstrated record of achievement in mainframe COBOL application development within the past year.

 Background and technical expertise with an IBM mainframe application development environment, including DB2 and CICS, is required. Experience must illustrate the following abilities:

• To perform structured COBOL program coding for mainframe computer applications.

• Must have skills in HTML

• Must have skills in browser based access to the mainframe through CICS.

• To perform basic systems analysis, program and system testing, program and system documentation, and system implementation.

• To access databases and provide any necessary specifications for design or modifications.

• To provide project status reports verbally and in writing, as required.

• To perform work in accordance with installation standards and procedures.
